Hagiography

Sant Charandas was a prominent Hindu spiritual leader who lived in Delhi during the eighteenth century. He was born in the village of Dehra in Alwar District, Rajasthan, in Vikrami Samvat 1760, which corresponds to 1703 AD. His family belonged to the Chyavan Gautriya Bhraguvanshi Dhusar Brahman community, and his parents were devoted to Lord Krishna. According to his BHAKTI SAGAR ADI VANI published by Khemraj Krishnadas publication, Mumbai, he is considered the sharehavior (Anshavatar) of Lord Krishna.

At the young age of five, Sri Sukukdev Muni visited him and blessed him with Darshan. As a teenager, Sant Charandas embarked on a pilgrimage, and at the age of nineteen, he received Guru Deeksha from Shri Shukdev Muni at SHUKTAL on the banks of the river Ganges. He then spent 14 years in penance in Delhi before visiting Sravrundavan Dham and returning to Delhi.

Due to his spiritual influence and miraculous abilities, the then king of Delhi, Muhammad Shah, became his disciple and donated several villages to him. Sant Charandas even predicted the attack on Delhi by Nadir Shah six months before it happened, which he conveyed in writing to King Muhammad Shah. Nadir Shah, who was impressed by his reputation, spared him and left Delhi for Iran.

Sant Charandas achieved salvation through Samadhi, sacrificing his body in Vikrami Samvat 1839, which corresponds to 1782 AD, at the age of 79.
