Moothedathukavu Bhagavathy temple is located at Moothedathu Kavu near Vaikom in Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The shrine remains closed after Vishu festival (April 14 or April 15) for three months and opens only on July 16 or July 17.

The popular belief is that Bhagavathy visits Madurai during the three month period when she is absent in the temple.
